Provided for people registered to GP practices within, Mansfield and Ashfield, Nottingham North and East and Nottingham West Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Routine GP and nurse appointments can be booked in the evening, at weekends and over bank holidays in Nottingham North and East, Mansfield and Ashfield and Nottingham West CCG areas using this PICS administered service. Pre-bookable appointments are available Monday-Friday, 6.30pm-8pm, plus weekends and bank holidays, with GPs, nurses and healthcare assistants available to be seen.
Appointments are booked by contacting the registered GP practice during normal opening hours. To provide choice of venue and ensure accessibility is spread across the area, appointments may take place at another local GP Practice.
If urgent medical advice is required when the surgery is closed, calls to NHS 111 should be made.
PICS acts as the umbrella organisation providing governance, the necessary information systems and operational support to manage the service. The ongoing administration is undertaken by GP practice staff, working alongside PICS. The system enables a full visibility of the patient record to the consulting clinician. The system has been set up to allow booking of patients across each CCG. Training of GP practice staff on the system, updates and reviews are provided by the PICS team.
